Palantir Stock Soars on Stellar Earnings and European Expansion

The data analytics and artificial intelligence specialist Palantir has once again delivered a powerful performance. A quarterly report that shattered all forecasts, combined with significant strategic moves in Europe, is fueling the company’s growth narrative and driving its share price upward. What is behind this impressive market showing?

Strategic European Moves Complement Strong Results

Beyond the outstanding financial metrics, a major strategic expansion into Europe is generating considerable bullish sentiment. Palantir is currently negotiating a new five-year contract with the UK Ministry of Defence, a deal valued at approximately €750 million. In an even more significant development, the company announced plans to invest €1.5 billion to establish the UK as its European defense headquarters. This initiative is expected to create 350 new jobs and will focus on developing advanced AI capabilities designed to accelerate military decision-making processes.

The company’s fundamental strength is compelling even skeptics to reassess their positions. Deutsche Bank, for instance, upgraded its rating on the stock from “Sell” to “Hold” and dramatically increased its price target from $80 to $160. Other financial institutions have followed with similar upward revisions.

Quarterly Earnings Shatter Expectations

The primary catalyst for the recent stock rally was an overwhelmingly positive quarterly earnings report. Palantir significantly outperformed analyst expectations, announcing revenue of $1 billion—a substantial 48% increase compared to the same quarter last year. The company also posted a positive earnings per share (EPS) surprise, reporting $0.16.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Palantir?

A particularly notable highlight was the explosive 93% growth within its US commercial customer segment. In light of this robust performance, the company’s leadership has raised its financial guidance for the full year 2025.

A Note of Caution Amid the Rally

Despite the overwhelmingly positive news, there is a counterpoint to consider. Over the past 90 days, there has been an increase in stock sales by company insiders. This suggests that while operational performance is strong, some key decision-makers are taking the opportunity to realize gains on their holdings.

Notwithstanding this recent pullback and insider activity, the long-term outlook for Palantir remains intact. The stock continues to trade well above its key moving averages and has demonstrated impressive performance since the start of the year. The central question for investors now is whether Palantir can maintain this remarkable momentum.
