Ecolab has received a substantial vote of confidence from Evercore ISI, with the research firm elevating its rating to “Outperform” and setting a price target of $300. Market experts point to the company’s expanding digital division and the strategic acquisition of Ovivo as primary growth catalysts, forecasting a potential inflection point by 2026.

Strategic Acquisition Fuels Expansion

The recent Ovivo acquisition is poised to significantly accelerate Ecolab’s global water treatment sales. Evercore analysts project water sales will surge by 5.6% next year, contributing substantially to the anticipated overall revenue growth of 6.6%. This strategic move could potentially drive earnings per share up by 13.8% in 2026.

Digital Transformation Drives Profitability

Ecolab’s digital services segment is emerging as a powerful engine for margin improvement. Recurring revenue streams from software and hardware subscriptions, currently at $380 million, possess the potential to expand to approximately $3 billion. These higher-margin digital revenue streams are expected to enhance operating margins by more than 200 basis points over the long term.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Ecolab?

Key Investment Highlights:
* Evercore ISI upgrades rating to “Outperform” with $300 price target
* Q3 earnings per share reached $2.07 on revenue of $4.17 billion
* Digital business positioned as primary margin expansion driver
* Ovivo acquisition accelerating growth in water treatment segment

Market Sentiment Remains Positive

While maintaining cautious optimism, the majority of analysts see substantial upside potential for Ecolab shares. The consensus price target ranges between $293 and $295, with some projections reaching as high as $323. The company’s strategic focus on digital water solutions and expansion into high-growth sectors including semiconductors and data centers continues to gain market approval.
