The Chinese technology conglomerate is demonstrating why it remains one of the industry’s most dynamic innovators. While numerous competitors face margin compression, Xiaomi isn’t just posting record figures—it’s executing a strategic shift that has captivated investor interest. The critical question remains whether this impressive performance can be sustained long-term.

Ecosystem Strategy Proves Its Worth

Xiaomi’s “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem approach, once viewed by some as primarily a marketing concept, is increasingly becoming a significant competitive advantage. The seamless integration between smartphones, smart home devices, and now vehicles is creating customer loyalty that extends well beyond individual product categories. This strategic cohesion appears to be paying substantial dividends as the company diversifies its revenue streams.

The addition of a profitable electric vehicle division has markedly decreased Xiaomi’s reliance on the smartphone market. With global smartphone sales showing signs of stagnation, this diversification could emerge as the primary growth engine for the coming years. The successful incorporation of EVs into its existing product ecosystem validates the company’s broader strategic vision.

Electric Vehicle Unit Turns Profitable in Landmark Achievement

In a development that has energized markets, Xiaomi’s Smart EV division has reached a significant milestone by reporting its first-ever quarterly profit. The segment contributed approximately €85 million to the company’s operating results, defying expectations about the timeline to profitability in the capital-intensive auto industry.

The division’s operational scale has expanded rapidly, with quarterly deliveries surpassing 100,000 vehicles. This performance has established Xiaomi as a serious contender in China’s fiercely competitive electric vehicle market far quicker than many industry observers had anticipated.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Xiaomi?

Financial Performance Exceeds Expectations

Xiaomi’s latest quarterly report revealed substantial growth across key financial metrics. Revenue climbed to €14.2 billion, representing a 22.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Even more impressive was the adjusted net profit of €4.1 billion, which has already surpassed the company’s entire full-year results from the previous fiscal year.

This robust financial health has provided the company with ample resources to pursue strategic initiatives while returning value to shareholders through various programs.

Leadership and Company Demonstrate Confidence Through Purchases

Concurrent with the strong operational results, Xiaomi’s leadership has been transmitting powerful confidence signals to the market. Founder and CEO Lei Jun personally acquired company shares worth approximately €11.5 million in a show of faith in the business’s direction.

Perhaps even more significant, the corporation itself launched a share buyback program valued at €34.5 million. This coordinated purchasing activity demonstrates management’s substantial belief in their strategic plan. Notably, these acquisitions occurred when the stock was trading considerably below its yearly peak—a clear indication that leadership views the current valuation as attractive.

The convergence of profitable electric vehicle operations, strong financial results, and demonstrated leadership confidence presents a compelling case for Xiaomi’s ongoing transformation. Market participants will be watching closely to see if this momentum can propel the shares toward recovering the more than 30% gap to their 52-week high.
