Nvidia’s Strategic Gambits Fuel Market Speculation

The financial markets are closely watching Nvidia’s every move as the semiconductor behemoth makes headlines on multiple strategic fronts. A surprising revelation about a landmark deal, coupled with major new partnerships, has investors weighing whether the company’s current valuation is sustainable or vulnerable to a potential setback.

A Landmark AI Deal: Signed or Still Pending?

At the recent UBS Global Technology Conference, Nvidia’s Chief Financial Officer, Colette Kress, delivered a significant update. The much-publicized $100 billion agreement with OpenAI, touted as the largest AI infrastructure project in history, is currently an expression of intent rather than a finalized contract. Kress clarified that while work towards a definitive signing is ongoing, the ink is not yet dry.

However, Kress was quick to provide crucial context to prevent market overreaction. The company’s already-booked $500 billion in orders through 2026 do not include this potential OpenAI volume. This implies that Nvidia’s order books are already overflowing without this deal, and the $100 billion agreement would represent additional upside. Furthermore, a planned $10 billion investment in Anthropic, a rival to OpenAI, could further boost future booking figures.

Deepening the Alliance with Amazon Web Services

While negotiations continue on one front, Nvidia is solidifying its position elsewhere through concrete action. The company and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a substantial expansion of their 15-year partnership at an event in Las Vegas. The core of this strategic move involves AWS integrating Nvidia’s NVLink technology directly into its own custom chips.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang framed the collaboration as part of an “AI industrial revolution.” The launch of dedicated “AI Factories” will provide customers with infrastructure powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture. The underlying message is unambiguous: the demand for computing power is insatiable, and Nvidia is positioning itself as the indispensable backbone for this growth.

Fortifying the Moat: Ecosystem Over Hardware Alone

Addressing concerns about competition from Google’s custom chips and other tailored solutions, CFO Kress offered a firm rebuttal. She stated unequivocally that “everyone is on our platform,” emphasizing that Nvidia’s competitive advantage now extends far beyond hardware into a comprehensive, entrenched ecosystem.

This claim is bolstered by a separate $2 billion strategic investment in the software specialist Synopsys. The goal is to leverage artificial intelligence to dramatically accelerate engineering workflows. Processes that traditionally took weeks could be completed in mere hours, an efficiency leap that promises to further cement the industry’s reliance on Nvidia’s suite of solutions.

Nvidia shares currently trade at 156.42 euros, maintaining a strong level of performance since the start of the year with a gain of 16.07%. Investors are now looking ahead to quarterly results in February 2026 for confirmation that actual demand can keep pace with these monumental expectations.
