Office furniture often leaves larger workers with few safe seating options, as standard models typically cap load capacities well below 130 kilograms. LiberNovo, a German manufacturer, has now introduced a purpose-built series—the Maxis Big & Tall—that carries official BIFMA certification for users weighing as much as 181 kg. The line targets a demographic that has long struggled to find properly reinforced ergonomic chairs.
The design emphasises generous dimensions: the seat depth comes in at 52 centimetres, while the backrest spans 43 to 52 centimetres across to provide shoulder support. An adjustable headrest offers 14 centimetres of vertical play and 12 centimetres of depth adjustment, accommodating taller frames that often extend beyond standard headrest reach.
A six-level recline system allows the backrest to tilt anywhere between 105 and 160 degrees. Stability during recline is handled by a six-spring mechanism, and the chairs also feature curved Arc armrests plus an OmniStretch mode designed to encourage dynamic sitting throughout the workday.
LiberNovo offers the Maxis series in three configurations: the Manual (829 euros), the Electric (1,079 euros) with a motorised lumbar support, and the Airflow (1,269 euros) which adds active seat ventilation. For customers willing to order early, introductory discounts exceeding 40 percent apply until July 31, 2026. Shipments are scheduled to begin on August 10.
The company already sells the Omni Pro (from 979 euros) and the Omni SE (from 589 euros), covering a broader price range for ergonomic workplace seating. With the Maxis line, LiberNovo fills a niche that most competitors overlook—workers who need a chair that can handle both their height and their weight without compromise.
