Major financial institutions are accumulating shares of infrastructure consulting firm Aecom, signaling strong confidence in its prospects. This bullish activity coincides with maintained optimistic price targets from analysts, supported by robust quarterly earnings and major project wins.

Strong Quarterly Performance Underpins Confidence

Aecom’s fiscal third quarter 2025 results provided fundamental support for investor optimism. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.34, exceeding market expectations. Net service revenue demonstrated healthy growth, increasing by 6% year-over-year, while the operating margin expanded by 90 basis points to reach 17.1%.

The company’s backlog, a crucial indicator of future revenue potential, grew by 5% to $24.588 billion. This strong performance prompted management to raise full-year guidance, now projecting an operating margin of 16.5% and adjusted earnings between $5.20 and $5.30 per share.

Major Contract Win Highlights Global Competitiveness

The company’s momentum appears sustainable following a significant project award. Aecom has been selected as project management consultant and engineer for the second phase of “The Avenues – Riyadh,” a massive $4 billion mixed-use development in Saudi Arabia. This contract underscores Aecom’s international competitive strength and contributes directly to its growing project pipeline.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Aecom?

Analyst Consensus Points to Upside Potential

Market experts remain bullish on Aecom’s equity prospects. The consensus price target stands at $128.44, representing approximately 7% upside from current levels. Individual firm assessments vary, with Royal Bank Of Canada targeting $126.00 per share while UBS Group maintains a more optimistic $139.00 target.

The investment case is supported by several valuation metrics:
* A more attractive P/E ratio compared to industry peers
* Superior revenue and profit performance relative to sector competitors
* A beta of 0.99, indicating lower volatility than the broader S&P 500 index

Institutional Activity Shows Net Positive Flow

Recent regulatory filings reveal substantial institutional accumulation of Aecom shares. Andina Capital Management established a new position during the first quarter, acquiring 3,870 shares valued at $359,000. Cordatus Wealth Management increased its existing holding by 3.7%, while Private Trust Co. NA expanded its position significantly by 37.2%. The sole notable reduction came from BNP PARIBAS ASSET MANAGEMENT, which decreased its stake by 9.9% through the sale of 4,785 shares.

The overall institutional activity demonstrates strong professional investor confidence in Aecom’s strategic direction and financial performance.
