Veritiv continues to execute an ambitious growth strategy, reinforcing its transformation into a dedicated packaging enterprise. The distribution and packaging specialist maintained its aggressive expansion pace through two significant acquisitions during September 2025. Following the purchase of S. Walter Packaging Corp earlier in the month, the company further broadened its portfolio by acquiring Subotnick Packaging.
Strategic Financing Supports Major Acquisition
The foundation for this expansion was established in December 2024 when Veritiv arranged substantial financing to support its growth initiatives. The company secured a “B+” rating for a planned $600 million term loan alongside $550 million in Senior Secured Notes. These funds were specifically designated to finance the $1.135 billion acquisition of Orora Packaging Solutions. Concurrently, Veritiv expanded its revolving credit facility from $825 million to $1.1 billion, providing additional financial flexibility.
While this financing round is expected to temporarily increase the company’s debt load, management anticipates rapid deleveraging through enhanced operational performance and additional EBITDA generated from the acquired businesses.

Strengthening Core Operations
Beyond its acquisition strategy, Veritiv continues to invest in fundamental business operations. In June 2025, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the print sector by announcing that its Endurance premium brand would transition to exclusive United States production. This shift toward domestic manufacturing aims to improve product consistency while optimizing supply chain efficiency.
Can Veritiv sustain growth through this dual approach of aggressive expansion and operational excellence? Current bullish market sentiment appears to validate this strategy, even amid uncertainty affecting other industry segments.
