Exploration activities are accelerating at the Dufferin-West uranium project in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin. With the first drill hole now complete, a second is already underway, supported by significantly improved targeting data compared to the start of the campaign.
Ongoing Program and Project Framework
The current drilling program is planned for a minimum of three holes totaling approximately 1,200 meters. Refined Energy is operating the 10,140-hectare Dufferin project under an exclusive option agreement with Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. The agreement provides Refined Energy a pathway to earn a majority interest by fulfilling defined expenditure commitments, making cash payments, and issuing shares.
Initial Hole Provides Geological Benchmark
The inaugural hole, DW26-001, successfully intersected the geological unconformity—a key boundary between sedimentary rock and the underlying basement—at a depth of 332 meters. Drilling continued to a final depth of 432 meters. Core samples from this hole are being logged on-site and will be shipped to an accredited laboratory for detailed assay analysis. The results are eagerly anticipated, as they will confirm whether the drilled zone contains mineralized material and validate the targeting strategy for subsequent holes.

In a parallel development, the company has integrated new geophysical data. MWH Geo-Surveys recently completed an extensive ground gravity survey covering about 530 hectares, collecting measurements at 817 points on a 50-by-100-meter grid. This dataset is being used directly to refine targets for the ongoing drill campaign.
Second Target Focuses on Promising Structural Zone
Drilling has now shifted to the second hole, DW26-002, located roughly 100 meters south of the first. This target was selected based on a convergence of geophysical anomalies. Specifically, the hole is testing an area where an electromagnetic conductor—initially identified by airborne surveys and later refined through ground-based work—coincides with a distinct gravity low.
Geologists interpret this convergence as the potential intersection of a northeast-southwest trending structural zone, known as an N70 fault. This specific geological configuration is considered highly prospective for uranium mineralization within the Athabasca Basin, making it a priority target for the exploration team.
