Germany’s Federal Job Board Lists 24,000 Remote Positions as Hybrid Work Expands Beyond Office Roles

Flexible work arrangements are no longer reserved for senior executives or tech specialists. The Bundesagentur für Arbeit — Germany’s Federal Employment Agency — reported on June 7, 2026 that its online job exchange now carries exactly 24,097 vacancies explicitly offering home office or hybrid work. What is striking is how far the trend has spread: apprenticeships, manual trades, and even international postings are increasingly bundled with location flexibility.

Hybrid Options Reach Apprentices

Kontron, an industrial technology company, is training future IT specialists for system integration in Augsburg and Ismaning — and the three-year apprenticeship already includes hybrid work. That marks a shift from the conventional classroom-and-workshop model.

Not every vocational path can go remote, of course. Deutsche Post DHL is recruiting courier and postal service specialists for 2026/2027 in Passau and Deggendorf, with monthly starting pay of €1,334.26. The job requires on-site delivery. Similarly, Excella Pharma Source in Feucht trains pharmaceutical technicians who must work in production facilities.

Where Home Office Is the Norm

Administrative roles continue to lead the flexible-work charge. The Verkehr und Wasser GmbH in Oldenburg is hiring a human resources officer with a hybrid arrangement. Tchibo in Hamburg offers clothing pattern technicians a 35-hour week and flexible workplace options. DIS AG in Dortmund needs balance-sheet accountants who can rotate between home and office.

International listings on the same platform show the breadth. Collins Aerospace has controller positions in Winston-Salem or Miami, with hybrid options and annual salaries between $147,000 and $295,000. LevelUp is seeking financial controllers in Metro Manila for fully remote work.

Technical Fieldwork Still Grounded

While office jobs become more flexible, hands-on technical service remains tied to physical locations. Riello UPS is hiring electricians for uninterruptible power supply systems in North Rhine-Westphalia. The package includes a 38.75-hour work week, 30 days of paid leave, and a 13th-month salary. The message: those willing to be physically present get clear advantages.

Public-sector employers also maintain location requirements. The state capital Düsseldorf needs an electronics technician for its southern sewage treatment plant — application deadline June 25, 2026. The role involves shift work and handling medium-voltage equipment up to 10 kV. The city administration of Mühlacker offers electricians pay grade 6 under the TVöD collective agreement plus on-call duty allowances.

Creative Recruitment Tactics Emerge

Employers are trying new approaches to fill positions. Rhenus Warehousing Solutions held a candidate day in Gießen on June 6, 2026 with the goal of staffing 62 new jobs in returns processing. The local employment agency and Jobcenter assisted with placements.

Planen-Müller GmbH in Hannover runs regular “OpenDoor” sessions on June 10, 17 and 24, where interested candidates can explore the saddlery trade firsthand. Such formats underline a broader truth: despite the digital push, craft professions remain attractive — only the path to finding them has changed.
