Apple Shares Poised for Record Quarter on iPhone Surge

Apple appears ready to deliver an exceptional performance in the current quarter, with CEO Tim Cook forecasting what he describes as a “monster quarter” ahead. This optimistic outlook follows a period of market volatility and is substantiated by unexpectedly strong initial sales data for the newly released iPhone 17. As rumors of a potential partnership with Intel add further fuel to the bullish sentiment, investors are weighing whether the stock can achieve new record highs or if looming regulatory challenges will temper its ascent.

Strategic Shift: Potential Intel Collaboration

Beyond the impressive sales figures, market attention is captured by strategic rumors suggesting a significant supply chain evolution. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Intel could begin manufacturing Apple’s proprietary processors as early as 2027. Such a move would represent a historic shift in Apple’s silicon strategy, underscoring the company’s drive to diversify its production base and potentially incorporate more components made in the United States. Financial markets are interpreting this potential alliance as a strong signal for long-term supply chain stability.

iPhone 17 Drives Unprecedented Growth

The foundation for management’s confidence lies in an aggressive financial forecast. Apple is projecting revenue growth between 10 and 12 percent for the ongoing holiday quarter—a substantial acceleration compared to the modest approximately two percent growth recorded throughout the 2024 fiscal year. This optimism is grounded in tangible performance metrics: market researchers report that the iPhone 17 is significantly outselling its predecessor during the first ten days following its launch.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Apple?

A crucial component of this success is the resurgence in Asian markets. The iPhone 17 has achieved a 14 percent sales increase over the iPhone 16 in both the United States and the critical Chinese market. This performance suggests the company may have achieved a long-awaited turnaround in China, where revenues had previously faced pressure. The “super-cycle” that analysts had predicted, driven by new artificial intelligence capabilities, appears to be materializing.

Regulatory Hurdles Present Billion-Dollar Risks

Despite the positive momentum, Apple’s trajectory faces significant headwinds from regulatory bodies. In India, the company is engaged in a fierce legal battle concerning new antitrust regulations. The core issue involves a potential change in how penalties are calculated; authorities may base fines on a company’s global revenue rather than solely its local earnings. In a worst-case scenario, this exposes Apple to a theoretical financial risk of up to $38 billion—a staggering sum the corporation is vigorously contesting. Concurrently, pressure is mounting in the European Union due to the Digital Markets Act, which is targeting additional Apple services.

Market Outlook: Bullish Momentum Intact

Notwithstanding these regulatory challenges, market sentiment remains predominantly positive. Apple shares are currently trading at €239.45, hovering within striking distance of their 52-week high and confirming a robust upward trend. If the company can sustain the iPhone 17’s current sales momentum throughout the crucial holiday shopping season, an assault on new record price levels appears to be merely a question of timing. Investors are advised to monitor developments closely in the coming week for any confirmation regarding the potential Intel partnership.
