JinkoSolar Shares: Is a Rebound Possible Amid Sector Turmoil?

The solar energy sector is currently navigating severe headwinds, and JinkoSolar is feeling the impact. As market experts express caution and some investors react with alarm, the solar module manufacturer is battling for every percentage point of market stability. The critical question remains: is there a genuine case for optimism, or is a more significant downturn imminent?

A Critical Financial Reporting Date

All attention is focused on a key calendar event: November 17, 2025. On this date, JinkoSolar is scheduled to release its financial results for both the second and third quarters. This earnings report is anticipated to be a pivotal moment, potentially confirming the market’s deepest concerns or, conversely, providing unexpected positive signals. Technically, the stock appears deeply oversold, indicated by a Relative Strength Index (RSI) reading of just 21.7. However, whether this technical indicator signals an impending trend reversal or merely a temporary pause before further declines will be determined solely by the forthcoming financial data. The equity is in a clear search for a stable price floor, a level it has decidedly not yet established.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying JinkoSolar?

Cautious Stance from Market Experts

The analytical community is maintaining a guarded outlook. Goldman Sachs has adopted a firm position; despite a modest increase in its price target from $15 to $18, the investment bank continues to uphold its “Sell” recommendation. This stance serves as a distinct signal of prevailing market uncertainty. While the average price target among other analysts suggests potential upside to $24.74, the predominant “Hold” rating across the board is telling. There is a noticeable reluctance to commit to a strong, definitive recommendation, reflecting a broader climate of caution.

Underlying Industry Challenges Persist

The fundamental challenges extend beyond a single company. The entire solar industry is grappling with intense price competition and significant overcapacity. JinkoSolar’s strategic focus on high-efficiency TOPCon products and energy storage systems, while innovative, is insufficient to counteract these deep-seated structural issues. Globally declining module prices, compounded by trade policy uncertainties, are persistently eroding profitability. In this environment, even the most advanced technological offerings provide limited relief from the overarching sector-wide pressures.

My name is Felix Baarz, and I look back on over fifteen years of experience as a business journalist. I have always been fascinated by the mechanisms and dynamics of global financial markets as well as the complex economic and political interconnections that shape our world. With this passion, I have made a name for myself as an expert on international financial markets and dedicate myself with great commitment to making even the most complex topics understandable and accessible to my readers. My roots lie in Cologne, where I was born and raised. Early on, my curiosity about economic topics and international developments sparked my interest in journalism. After completing my studies, I began my career as a business editor at a respected German trade publication. Here I laid the foundation for my professional career, but my curiosity soon drew me out into the wider world. A turning point in my life was moving to New York, where I lived for six years and gained insight into leading media houses. In this vibrant metropolis, I was able to report firsthand from the heart of the global financial world. From daily developments on Wall Street to major economic policy decisions that make waves worldwide, I had the opportunity to write about central topics that move people and markets alike. This time shaped my perspective and sharpened my view of global interconnections.
