Investors are closely monitoring MillerKnoll, Inc. as the company prepares to announce its first-quarter fiscal 2026 results this week. The upcoming earnings report, following a period of significant leadership changes and a surprisingly strong previous quarter, is viewed as a critical indicator for the furniture manufacturer’s near-term trajectory.

Leadership Transition and Strategic Appointments

A major executive reshuffle was announced on September 5th, marking a new chapter for the company. John Hoke is set to become the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective October 13th. He will succeed Mike Volkema, who is stepping down after a 25-year tenure in the role.

Further changes to the executive team include the appointment of Jeff Stutz as Chief Operating Officer on September 8th. Kevin Veltman has been named interim Chief Financial Officer. These strategic appointments are widely seen as positioning the company for its next phase of growth.

Quarterly Earnings and Analyst Expectations

All eyes are on the earnings release scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd, after the market closes.

Market analysts are forecasting earnings per share (EPS) of $0.35 on revenue of $910.97 million for Q1 2026. This forecast falls within the company’s own provided guidance range of $0.32 to $0.38 per share.

These projections come on the heels of an impressive Q4 2025 performance, where MillerKnoll reported an adjusted EPS of $0.60. This figure substantially outperformed consensus expectations of $0.44. Quarterly revenue also saw a significant year-over-year increase of 8.2%, reaching $961.8 million.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Herman Miller?

Share Performance and Dividend Yield

The stock presents a mixed performance picture. As of the close on Friday, September 19th, shares were trading at $20.03, down $0.41 for the day. Recent pressure followed disappointing results from sector competitor RH.

However, taking a broader view reveals notable gains; the stock has advanced an impressive 21% over the past three months, though it remains down approximately 9% for the year to date.

Shareholders are set to receive a quarterly dividend of $0.1875 per share on October 15th. On an annualized basis, this payout represents an attractive dividend yield of 3.7%.

  • Q1 Earnings Date: September 23rd (after market close)
  • Dividend: $0.1875 per share (Payable October 15th)
  • New Leadership: John Hoke (Chairman), Jeff Stutz (COO)
  • Current Share Price: $20.03 (as of September 19)
  • Institutional Ownership: 95.32%

Strong Institutional Backing

A commanding 95.32% of the company’s shares are held by institutional investors, signaling strong confidence from major financial players. Recent regulatory filings show significant activity within this group.

Jane Street Group LLC dramatically increased its stake by 311.8% during the first quarter. Similarly, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board raised its holdings by 6.9% in the second quarter. Prominent investment firms such as BlackRock, Vanguard, and AllianceBernstein count themselves among the largest shareholders. The market now watches to see how these institutions will respond to the upcoming earnings announcement.
