NVR Inc: A Look at the Numbers

NVR, Inc. (NYSE:NVR) is a leading construction company in the United States, operating through its Homebuilding and Mortgage Banking segments. The firm specializes in building and selling single-family detached homes, townhomes, and condominium buildings under the Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Heartland Homes names.

As of this writing, Bloomberg reports that seven brokerages are covering NVR shares on the market. However, opinions are somewhat divided with one equities research analyst rating the stock with a sell recommendation while two have issued a hold recommendation and four have given a buy recommendation to the company. In total, an average rating of “Hold” has been attained for NVR.

According to analysts who have updated their coverage on NVR in the last year, the company has an average twelve-month price target of $4,863.33. This figure is as high as one might expect from such a successful industry player and reflects confidence in their operations and future prospects.

In fact, NVR posted strong quarterly earnings data on Tuesday 25 April that exceeded expectations. The construction company reported $99.89 EPS for Q1 2017, beating consensus estimates of $88.96 by $10.93. Furthermore, NVR had a net margin of 16.20% alongside a return on equity of 48.97%. While these figures represent a dip in revenue – which was down 7.7% YoY – they still demonstrate good performance from NVR.

Looking ahead to the current year’s earnings prospects, analysts forecast that NVR will post 408.58 earnings per share; this number suggests optimism regarding continued growth within the segment.

Overall; therefore; despite mixed opinions regarding holding or buying NVR shares presently available on the market its recent financial figures do give some cause for encouragement for those tracking its development over time due to its history of consistent growth and profitability. As always potential investors should carefully consider a range of reports and opinions before making any investments as the market is always subject to change.
