While market attention often focuses on technology giants and dramatic stock movements, Crawford & Company has been demonstrating how consistent, measured growth can deliver substantial value. The provider of claims management solutions is emerging as a quiet achiever, bolstered by strong quarterly performance and a dividend increase that signals underlying financial health.

Broad-Based Operational Resilience Drives Growth

Crawford delivered a robust performance in the second quarter of 2025, with revenues before reimbursements climbing 2.8% to reach $323 million. Notably, three of the company’s four business segments reported growth, reflecting well-diversified operational strength. Even weather-related challenges in the U.S. property market failed to derail this positive trajectory.

A key factor in this success has been strategic diversification. While weather-exposed services saw a decline of 3.8%, non-weather-related segments advanced by a solid 5.2%. The Broadspire division achieved record results, underscoring the resilience of Crawford’s business model across varying market conditions.

Dividend Boost Reflects Financial Confidence

Management has reinforced its optimistic outlook with concrete action: increasing the dividend by half a cent to $0.075 per share. This move communicates clear confidence in the company’s financial stability and directly rewards shareholder loyalty.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Crawford?

Improved cash flow metrics support this strategic direction. Operating cash flow of $21.1 million and positive free cash flow of $2.6 million provide Crawford with flexibility not only to sustain dividend distributions but also to fund strategic investments in technology and expansion initiatives.

Favorable Industry Trends Support Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Crawford anticipates a normalization of currently suppressed claims frequency over the next 12 to 18 months. Simultaneously, reinsurance conditions are expected to become more favorable—two factors that could provide additional tailwinds for the business.

The company’s strategy remains focused: targeted investments in technology, talent acquisition, and selective mergers and acquisitions aim to strengthen its competitive positioning. In an industry increasingly shaped by efficiency and digital transformation, Crawford’s disciplined growth approach may prove to be a sustainable advantage.

Although the stock currently trades around $11—still notably below its 52-week high of $12.28—the underlying fundamentals suggest a company positioned for continued momentum. Whether the market has fully recognized this value proposition remains a key consideration for investors.

My name is Felix Baarz, and I look back on over fifteen years of experience as a business journalist. I have always been fascinated by the mechanisms and dynamics of global financial markets as well as the complex economic and political interconnections that shape our world. With this passion, I have made a name for myself as an expert on international financial markets and dedicate myself with great commitment to making even the most complex topics understandable and accessible to my readers. My roots lie in Cologne, where I was born and raised. Early on, my curiosity about economic topics and international developments sparked my interest in journalism. After completing my studies, I began my career as a business editor at a respected German trade publication. Here I laid the foundation for my professional career, but my curiosity soon drew me out into the wider world. A turning point in my life was moving to New York, where I lived for six years and gained insight into leading media houses. In this vibrant metropolis, I was able to report firsthand from the heart of the global financial world. From daily developments on Wall Street to major economic policy decisions that make waves worldwide, I had the opportunity to write about central topics that move people and markets alike. This time shaped my perspective and sharpened my view of global interconnections.
