The race to bring robotic body-assist devices to everyday users is accelerating, with two distinct product launches now set for next month. One targets consumers looking for help with hip movement, while the other is designed for patients with spinal cord injuries — and both companies showcased their latest work around a major industry trade event in mid-August.

Reudyn, a brand making its official debut, used the platform on 13 August 2026 to unveil the Hip X26, a hip-assist exoskeleton built for the broader consumer market. The company describes its approach as human-centered, with a stated philosophy of expanding human potential through wearable robotics. CEO Mels Cui said the goal is to meaningfully boost what users can physically accomplish with the help of these systems.

The Hip X26 pairs advanced gait sensors with motion-intent recognition technology. That combination allows the device to interpret what the wearer is trying to do in real time and then provide support accordingly. Reudyn says the system is designed to reduce strain during movement and requires no complex controls — the user simply moves naturally and the exoskeleton follows.

Commercial availability for the Hip X26 is scheduled for September 2026. The timing puts Reudyn in a segment that has been growing steadily as both private households and workplaces seek ergonomic solutions for physically demanding activities.

FDA approval opens US market for spinal injury device

Just before the trade fair, Wandercraft notched a regulatory win that could reshape rehabilitation options in the United States. The company’s Eve exoskeleton received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for use by adults with spinal cord injuries. The device assists patients with standing and walking, though it requires supervision from a trained companion during use.

Wandercraft has set a US launch date of 17 September 2026 for Eve. On the question of how patients will cover the significant cost of such equipment, expectations are already forming: experts anticipate that Medicare, the US public health insurance program, could begin reimbursing for the device within 60 to 90 days after sales start.

What the sensor advances mean for workplace safety

The two product lines illustrate how wearable robotics are branching in different directions. Wandercraft’s focus is clinical — restoring mobility for people with disabilities. Reudyn, by contrast, is aiming at a wider audience, including workers in jobs that put heavy physical demands on the body.

For occupational safety specialists, the most promising development may be the underlying sensor technology. The ability to accurately detect a user’s movement intention is widely seen as the key factor in whether exoskeletons gain acceptance on factory floors, in logistics, and in other settings where repetitive or strenuous motion is routine. With both companies now moving toward their September launches, the coming months will offer a first real test of how quickly these systems can influence ergonomic practices across industry and services.
